Teaching the Five Senses

Yesterday I provided you abounding of "All About Me" Preschool Activities that you can do with your young kids to help
teach them about themselves in the personal sense. Everybody is unique, but
it moves deeper than just the Physical sense…. such as our senses. Today I
am going to give you some activities to do with your children to help you teach
them about their senses.
Here are some activities that you can do with your young kids so that
they can see that their senses are unique…. distinct than any person else's.

Teaching the Five Senses
In alignment to educate the five senses to your preschool age young kids you have to
be hands on…. there is no easy way to educate your children about their five
senses without having them touch, flavour, discover, smell and glimpse. So, that is exactly
what we are going to do.

Sense of feel undertakings
My Hand publication – Help the young kids find their hands on to
paper…. these will be the pages of the publication. On each page of the publication have
the young kids compose what they like to do with their hands. You will probably
have to help them with this task.
Feely carton – location distinct objects with distinct textures
in a carton or bag. inquire the children to reach in and recount what they seem.
Can they number out what you have in there?
Playing in Sand – Put some sand in a carton or a baked cake pot
and have the children play in it with their hands. Let them draw things in the
sand. Have them recount what it felt like.
Textured digit painting – blend some digit tints with
sand. This conceives a textured decorate. Have the young kids decorate with this textured
digit decorate concoction. What did it feel like? Did they like the way it sensed?
Being the Architect – convey out all different types of
material that have different textures… such as corrugated cartons, egg cartons,
empty paper towel rolls, etc. Let the children use their fantasy to construct
things.
Sense of stink undertakings
rub and Sniff - Help the kids make their own Scratch
and Sniff pieces. Simply spread flavored driven gelatin on a paper. Once it
dries-out-out-out absolutely let the kids scratch and sniff them. Which one do they like
the most? Which do they least like?
Jars of stinks – Soak cotton fabric fabric globes in different flavorings
such as peppermint, orange or lemon. location each cotton fabric ball in a baby food
jar. Punch apertures in the top. Let the children smell each. Which one do they
most like? Which do they least like?
My Art stinks – convey out some scented markers. Ask the
young kids to draw pictures of things they love to smell…. such as blossoms,
meatloaf, shampoo, etc…
Vote with your Nose – utilising catalogue cards spray different
scents on each. mark each with a number and overtake the cards round. Let the
children ballot on what they like most. Let them furthermore ballot what they smallest like.
Potpourri - Help the children make their own Potpourri
mixture. You can use flavours such as cinnamon sticks and mint departs. Use rectangles
of netting that you can choose up at any craft shop or even a discount shop
like Wal-Mart.
gaze the identical / flavour Different - supply pieces that look
alike, but flavour VERY distinct. Bring out vinegar and water, saline and sugar,
and flour and ovenovenbaking soda. Let the children try each and describe the dissimilarities.
Just a little dab on the end of the digit is good sufficient. What makes them
so distinct even though they gaze alike? What are the kids' thoughts?
Sense of Sight undertakings
My Art is BIG - Have the children draw pictures while looking
through a magnifying glass. Is it hard or easier to draw this way? Why?
Pin the follow on the Donkey – This is a joy game to play
when you are conversing about the Sense of view. After playing the game with
the young children inquire the children if this tinquire was difficult. inquire them why or why
not. hear to their comprehensive explanation. Talk about it.
gaze at the World distinctly – convey out distinct tinted
cellophane. Have the young kids gaze through each by placing a little part of
cellophane over the eyes (Do Not let them location the cellophane over their
head!! This is a safety hazard). Ask the children to recount what they glimpse
when they gaze through the distinct hue cellophane. What did they observe
when they looked at certain thing without the tinted cellophane contrasted to with
the cellophane? Which hue cellophane was their favorite?
gaze at Those Eyes – convey out pictures of human's eyes
and animal's eyes. You can gaze for images online, in publications, magazines or
at a library. display the children all the different eyes you discovered? Are their any
dissimilarities between a human eyes and an animals eyes? talk about.
Sense of Sound Activities
tempo – Help educate the young kids tempo. Turn on some young kids's
melodies. Using devices, twigs or even the children's clapping hands see
if they can find the trounce. You start by finding out the trounce and let them
follow. Now, you stop…. can they extend holding up with the tempo?
Make melodious devices - convey out empty canisters….
Empty Pringles cans work magnificently for this. load up up the canisters half-way
with items that make distinct noise. Make one melodious canister with macaroni
noodles, make the next with rice and perhaps the next with pennies. They each
should sound distinctly. Now, let them use their new devices to pursue
the tempo in a song.
Can you Find the Sound? – Blindfold one of the young kids.
Have another child make a disturbance. inquire the blindfolded progeny to point in the
direction of the sound. Were they right? Was this a difficult task for the
blindfolded child? Why or why not?
Ring the chime - suspend bells from the ceiling utilising yarn.
Make sure the bells and backyard are out of the way so progenyren don't get hurt.
Give a progeny a bean bag and glimpse if they can ring the chime. Pass the bean bag
round and give every person a possibility to ring the bell.
